The Nordic Altar started in my own bathroom. After my daughter was born my health had slipped, and going looking for real answers pulled me straight down the rabbit hole of peptides — the actual science of what works, and why. Skincare was next. Once I understood how these ingredients behaved, I couldn’t unsee how little of them most brands actually put in the bottle.
In late 2025 a work trip to China put me, by pure chance, in a room with someone from a medical lab who could get me pharmaceutical-grade actives straight from the source. A month later I was made redundant. I stood looking at the row of expensive bottles on my shelf and thought: I know what’s in these — I could make most of it myself, and make it properly.
So I did. Every formula is mixed here in Britain, by hand, in small batches — full-strength actives at the concentration that’s actually proven to work, printed honestly on the box. No contract manufacturer to hide behind, no proprietary blends, no fairy-dusting a trace of an active so the label can brag. A copper-peptide serum here is £28 — the same GHK-Cu that runs £55+ at a luxury counter.
The first orders, and the feedback that came back, kept the ball rolling. My first market sold better than I’d dared hope. Then customers kept asking for beard oils — so I made those too, and there are more on the way. The honest goal? To look at my own bathroom one day and find every bottle in it is one I made.
