Microneedling Aftercare: How to Use Peptides for Best Results

Microneedling opens tiny channels in the skin — and what you apply straight after makes all the difference. Here's how to do it safely.

Microneedling creates thousands of tiny channels in the skin's surface. That alone kicks off a healing response — but the real payoff is in what you apply immediately afterwards, while those channels are open. Get the aftercare right and you can dramatically boost your results. Get it wrong and you can irritate freshly opened skin. Here's how to do it properly.

Why aftercare matters so much

Normally, even our light, well-absorbed serums have to work their way through the skin's outer layer. Microneedling briefly bypasses that layer, giving peptides like GHK-Cu a direct route to the deeper skin where collagen is built. Apply a copper peptide serum (Northern Light or War Paint) right after your session and the repair signal is delivered exactly where it's needed — which is why microneedling and peptides are such a powerful pairing for smoothing scars and fine lines.

The window that matters

The channels stay open for roughly four to twenty-four hours, and your skin is at its most receptive in that time. Apply your copper peptide serum straight after needling, and again over the next day, to make the most of it.

What to avoid

Because the barrier is temporarily open, only use clean, water-based serums that are free from fragrance, heavy oils and harsh preservatives — exactly what ours are built to be. Steer clear of active acids, vitamin C and retinol for a few days, and skip heavy creams for the first few hours so the channels stay clear.

The simple routine

Cleanse gently, then apply one to two droppers of your GHK-Cu serum to freshly needled skin. Keep everything else off for a few hours. Done consistently, this turns each microneedling session into a genuine collagen boost rather than just surface stimulation.
